Nest box Long-eared owl + Hobby + Kestrel

This round basket made of natural woven (willow) branches provides a safe nesting place for long-eared owls, tree and common kestrels. Place the basket firmly in a tree, at a minimum height of 4 m, close to the trunk (between a fork) and attach it to the tree using rope or quick-release fasteners. The best location is at the edge of a forest, in a park, or a large garden. Ensure that the birds have a clear flight path. Fill the basket halfway with dry leaves and forest soil, the owls' preferred nesting material.

The best time for an annual check of the basket is in the autumn, from September onwards. Check the basket's sturdiness, refresh the nesting material, and ensure the flight path remains clear for the owl by pruning any branches if necessary.
