This wall-mounted VegTrug model is a sturdy and attractive wooden planter on legs, perfect for growing vegetables, herbs, or flowers in any (sunny) spot. Some notable features:

Fertilization and drainage are both very important.
Empty the VegTrug into the garden every winter and let it dry.
Once the wood is dry, you can make it weather-resistant with linseed oil. Put the plastic "liner" back in, first a layer of hydro-granules (which you can reuse every year), then organic potting soil. During cultivation, fertilize well with, for example, worm castings or Mushroom Earth, and for a new cultivation, mix a small bag of potting soil into the top layer.
