Beautiful, hardy begonia, probably originated from a seedling of Begonia grandis. The leaf is the first ornamental part that stands out: its "skewed oval" shape, green with fine red veins and deep red stems with a reddish-brown underside. Striking (and a reason for the name) are the silver-green to almost white speckles! The small, single, almost white flowers grow up to 1 meter high, have a delicate fragrance and are edible! The plant blooms until late autumn...! Give the plants a semi to fully shaded, moist spot, and they will surprise you for years in the spring. Some winter cover is recommended, as the plants tolerate frost down to -10°C. Slightly more or less shade, richer or poorer soil: the leaves will show small differences in color.
