'Sterling Moon' is a modern hybrid begonia, resulting from crosses with Begonia grandis, among others, making the plant more winter-hardy than most begonias. The large, heart-shaped leaves are strikingly silver-green with a metallic sheen and a reddish underside. Clusters of soft pink flowers appear in late summer. In a sheltered spot in humus-rich, well-drained soil, 'Sterling Moon' is reasonably hardy and can tolerate frost down to approximately -10 °C with good winter protection.
