Wild thyme is a robust, low-growing plant native to Europe and parts of Asia. In the wild, it primarily thrives in sunny, dry locations such as grasslands, heathlands, and rocky soils.
In the garden, wild thyme forms a dense, fragrant carpet of small leaves. In summer, it flowers profusely with purple-pink blossoms that attract many bees and butterflies. The plant is very winter-hardy, drought-tolerant, and requires little maintenance.
Additionally, wild thyme is also useful: its leaves have a spicy flavor and can be used in tea or dishes. A strong, versatile plant that brings color, fragrance, and biodiversity to the garden.
