A bizarrely shaped flower, due to the rapid growth of the bulbils. This selection from the wild Sand Leek produces "flowers" consisting of twisted, intertwined stems. The sturdy stems reach a height of 100-120 cm, making the flowers excellent for vases. Flowering period: June-July. Both the bulbs and the flowers are edible; compare the taste of the bulb to a mild garlic!
