Rhubarb 'Stockbridge Arrow'

  • Product number: 832754.1
  • Origin: Eurasia
  • Latin: Rheum rhabarbarum

USUALLY AVAILABLE FROM MARCH AND OCTOBER UNTIL STOCK IS DEPLETED. Late. A modern English variety from Yorkshire, the standard in England! They produce long, strong, red stems that are easy to harvest. It is one of the last varieties of the rhubarb season, although it can also be forced in a greenhouse. The arrow-shaped leaf is typical and gives this variety its name.
This relatively new variety was developed at the experimental gardens of the Ministry of Experimental Agriculture in Stockbridge House, Yorkshire. It quickly became popular with traditional Yorkshire growers, who seek the best "forcing varieties" for the greenhouse. Along with 'Timperley Early', it is now one of the most popular varieties!

These rhubarb plants are existing selections that are top performers in terms of taste during different harvest periods. We purchase these plants from a professional nursery that further selects the varieties for intense color, tenderness, and trueness to type.
