Grapefruit mint has pleated leaves with a light grapefruit scent and a mild peppermint aroma. It's a strong grower, used to make delicious tea. Of course, it can also be used in dishes.
Most mint varieties of the Mentha genus grow in the sun or in the shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and taste develop. Each variety goes through 2 growth stages: in spring, there's an upward growth spurt before flowering. Afterwards, horizontal (hard) growing runners emerge, which develop into new plants elsewhere. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
