Beautiful, dark foliage with a silvery sheen. This combination of dark and light inspired the name "Berries and Cream," also indicative of the fruity aroma carried by this fresh mint. Compact growth with lilac flowers make it a highly usable garden plant. Use this mint (like all other varieties) in tea and dishes, in ice cream and in soft drinks.
Most mint varieties of the genus Mentha grow in sun or shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and flavor are achieved. Each variety goes through two growth stages: in spring, there is an upward growth spurt before flowering. Afterwards, horizontally (rapidly) growing runners emerge, which develop into new plants elsewhere. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
