This somewhat trailing mint really smells of banana: sweet and intense like those old-fashioned banana meringues! Very tasty in summer drinks, ice cream, fruit salads, healthy sandwiches, cookies, and to make a delicious herbal tea.
Most mint varieties of the genus Mentha grow in the sun or in the shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and flavor develop. Each variety goes through 2 growth stages: in spring, there is an upward growth spurt before flowering. After that, horizontal (hard) growing runners emerge, which grow into new plants in a different location. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
