This non-hardy, but perennial leafy plant is not only beautiful due to the deep red color of its narrow leaves, but also tastes fresh and thus adorns the salad! The red pigment is caused by Anthocyanin: very healthy! Plants grow well in pots or as a ground cover in the garden.
