A reasonably hardy relative of the Agapanthus, so for safety's sake, plant it in a pot, unless the soil drains well, in which case planting it directly in the ground is a good risk to take. Both the leaves and the (lilac) flowers of this elegant plant are edible and have a mild to strong garlic aroma! The Zulus have a long tradition with this plant: it's flavorful, stimulating, and medicinal. We supply the green-leaved variety, which blooms with light lilac-pink flowers, thus adding extra ornamental value besides its flavor!
