A tropical plant from India that bears fruit on young trees. As the tree ages, the fruits can weigh up to 40 kg! It is one of the largest fruits that grow on trees, fortunately, they form on the trunk and not on the branches. This is a relative of the mulberry tree, although they bear little resemblance at first glance... The fruits are oval-round and can grow up to 100x50 cm. If you cut open the spiky fruits, you will see the cream-colored pulp that smells deliciously sweet and has a slightly sweet taste. Due to its size, each fruit is a substantial meal, very popular in the tropics!
As with all tropical plants, this one can go outside in summer (after the last night frosts) and must be brought back inside as soon as the heating comes on again. A cool and bright place is most ideal; some sun in winter is fine. Preferably never let it drop below 10°C.
