This unique tree is actually a conifer, although its leaves resemble those of a deciduous tree. In China, the tree is considered almost sacred due to all its alleged medicinal properties, but be careful with that. The tree can be kept very small in a pot, even as a bonsai! The leaves are used to make beneficial tea, in cosmetics the leaves are used in skin products and shampoo, and it is also used to make an insecticide and fertilizer. All in all, a fascinating tree that grew on earth 250 million years ago! Also enjoy the fantastic autumn colors... This is a male, columnar cultivar and therefore does NOT produce fruit. Ripe Ginkgo fruits have a special smell that is not appreciated by everyone.
