  • Product number: 831545.1
  • Origin: West, Central, and East Africa
  • Latin: Solanum macrocarpon

Round, white or light green fruits the size of a tomato. After the white color, the fruits ripen to yellow, but you harvest them unripe. The bitter taste is cleverly used in Indonesian or Surinamese dishes. The shiny leaf is particularly popular and is called Gboma. Especially the young leaves are used to wrap dishes, then steam or fry them. In all countries of Central Africa (west, central and east), this "spinach" is loved and eaten as a bitter delicacy. Cultivation in a greenhouse or sheltered outdoors.
