From this species, a delicious and healing oil is made from the leaves and seeds, especially for external use. Pick the leaves for a wonderfully fresh potpourri! Mosquitoes will be misled and will be less likely to find you... The powder is scraped off the leaves as an edible manna. The plants can tolerate light frost, but in case of more severe frost, they should be overwintered in a cool place. Eventually, a beautiful shrub will develop in a pot; you can even prune it into a beautiful bonsai! The leaves are elongated and become thicker and narrower as the plant ages.
