AVAILABLE FROM OCTOBER - NOVEMBER WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!
The perfume of this famous Middle Eastern fragrant rose is highly prized; its complex scent is due to no less than 275 compounds in the flower! The x damascena is a (spontaneous?) cross between Rosa gallica and Rosa moschata (with some DNA from Rosa fedtschenkoana as well) and was already known in Roman times. In the 13th century, crusaders brought the plants to Northern Europe. Due to its later flowering, this variety follows the Rosa gallica. Pick the petals, let them dry, and behold: months of rose fragrance (and moonlight?) in your home. Fresh rose petals give tea a delightful sweet aftertaste. Combined with some honey, this provides extra healing and soothing for a sore throat. In the garden, this rose will hardly suffer from diseases, provided you place it in a sunny spot, preferably on a raised plant bed. Its height is 60-90 cm, flowering time July-September.
BECAUSE OUR ROSES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE ONCE (AT MOST TWICE) A YEAR, THE WAITING TIME CAN BE LONG.
