Asparagus Plants 'Grolim'

Product number: 831140.1
Origin: Europe
Latin: Asparagus officinalis

This asparagus variety is the cream of the crop for professional cultivation! A mid-early, harvest-sure, and disease-resistant variety, very suitable for white and suitable for green cultivation. This variety is also grown in greenhouses for an even earlier harvest. The asparagus grows quite thick and is very tender! The crop (after harvest) grows quite open with dark green leaves. Planting distance 160x30 cm. We supply the heaviest quality: 70/+, which are "crowns" of 70g and heavier in A quality.
Tip: for growing bleached (white) asparagus, asparagus film is very useful! See 845005

Denominations:
Latin: Asparagus officinalis
Dutch: Asperge
Also known as: Aspergeklauwen
English: Asparagus

The planting distance is 40 cm. Between rows, 160 cm. For white asparagus, plant 22 cm deep and create a mound 20 cm high; a crack in the mound means: cut! Covering the mound with black film is easy and brings forward the harvest. For green asparagus, plant 15 cm deep; during harvest season, cut the shoots daily. You can harvest from the 2nd year (after planting) (harvesting a few stalks the following year is perfectly fine), yielding approximately 50 kg per 100 m². After June 24th, harvesting stops to allow the plant to rest and grow.
