SOLD OUT! This historic strawberry variety was bred in 1870 by the German fruit grower Gottlieb Goeschke. Astronomical prices were sometimes paid for this species, comparable to the tulips in the Netherlands. The dark red flesh is striking, which is why it is also called blood strawberry. The nice thing about this variety is that it remains dark red even after cooking (for jam, etc.).
Our collection of strawberries partly consists of rare old varieties, which are only available in small quantities. Therefore, the waiting time can be long. Annually in July, a new crop is potted by our grower, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can replenish part of this assortment. Please note that postage costs apply for any subsequent deliveries.
