Mid-Season Strawberry 'Sonata'
- Product number: 830770.1
- Origin: Europe
- Latin: Fragaria x ananassa
ABUNDANTLY AVAILABLE AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. (Elsanta x Polka) A mid-season strawberry that continues to produce well in heat and rain. The fruits are medium-sized, have a good shelf life, are juicy and sweet, and also grow well in pots. This variety was developed to improve the top variety Elsanta (1981); it has better winter hardiness, better fruit set, and few deformities: almost all fruits are "perfectly triangular."
Our strawberry collection partly consists of rare old varieties, which are only available in limited quantities. Therefore, the waiting time can be long. Each year in July, a new crop is potted by our grower, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can replenish some of this assortment. Please note that postage costs may apply for any subsequent deliveries.
