'Menen' (like 'Broadview', which it strongly resembles) grows somewhat slower than the common variety and ultimately remains slightly smaller, making it suitable for relatively smaller gardens; a 4x4 m space is ideal. The variety is very productive, even from a young age, and self-pollinating. The fruits are slightly elongated, with few grooves, and ripen in the second half of October to early November. The taste is good, and the husk opens easily: the fruits therefore fall from the tree without their husk.

Who doesn't know the walnut tree... broad trees that create a delightful shady spot. A useful fact: mosquitoes and flies dislike the vicinity of this tree, so a bench under the walnut tree is a joy on a balmy summer evening...! We supply young trees, which offers the best chance for healthy growth. Plant them so that the root ball is just below the ground (not too deep) and ensure a moderately moist, well-drained location. Walnuts need to ripen further after harvesting.
