This easy, small tree grows in both sun and partial shade. Its incised leaves have a silvery-grey, hairy layer, making it resistant to heat and drought. The white blooms in May-June precede the development of large, juicy, sweet-sour, dark red berries. These can become so dark in autumn that they take on a blue sheen; they are healthy and as delicious as cherries!
