The Trio berry is a special, decorative fruit plant where three different berry varieties are combined in one braided shrub: redcurrant, blackcurrant, and whitecurrant. Due to its braided form, this plant is not only a tasty fruit provider but also a real eye-catcher in the garden, on the terrace, or in a spacious pot.
In spring, small clusters of flowers appear, which are attractive to bees and other pollinators. From summer onwards, the different berries ripen. The redcurrants are fresh and slightly tart in taste, the blackcurrants have a powerful, aromatic character, and the whitecurrants are milder and slightly sweeter. Together, they provide a varied harvest with different colors and flavors.
The berries are delicious to eat fresh and can also be used for juice, jam, desserts, pastries, and fruit salads. The plant is self-pollinating and grows best in a sunny to semi-shaded spot in nutritious, well-draining soil.
The braided Trio berry is very winter-hardy and easy to care for. Regular pruning helps maintain its beautiful braided shape and stimulates the production of new fruit-bearing branches.
