Sowing Calendar for the Vegetable Garden

The Sowing Calendar for the Vegetable Garden is an indispensable reference work for both experienced and novice vegetable gardeners. For over 175 types of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers, sowing data is arranged by calendar rather than by type. The organization by period makes it clear at a glance what you can sow, plant, propagate, or transplant and when. The use of icons presents the information compactly. And those looking for a specific type will find it easily thanks to the extensive index.

All information is based on over 25 years of vegetable gardening experience from author Diana Stek. All species discussed have actually been grown by her. In her personal, dry style, she writes about the freezing death of bean weevils, the sound of a watermelon, the usefulness of broken broom handles, and potato logic. But also about her husband Ruud, who finds her way of planting onions a bit messy: did you drop them?

In the Sowing Calendar for the Vegetable Garden, you will find more than 2000 sowing schedules for over 175 types. But also 12 columns by Diana, space for your own notes, and more than 50 vegetable garden tips.

A little more information:
With great pride, Diana and Laura present this SOWING CALENDAR FOR THE VEGETABLE GARDEN. The ambitious project started as a bit of fun. Diana, known for the endless amount of valuable knowledge in her vegetable garden blogs on www.mooiemoestuin.nl, has a sowing calendar on her website. Laura wanted to present it in a slightly clearer format for herself and approached Diana to ask if she would like a copy too. After a pleasant phone call, the plan for the SOWING CALENDAR was born.
The two clicked. Within the fruitful collaboration, the division of tasks is clear: Diana writes the texts and provides the sowing information. Laura handles the design and the business side.

The SOWING CALENDAR FOR THE VEGETABLE GARDEN by Diana and Laura distinguishes itself through its simplicity. There are countless gardening books and many types of vegetable garden planners. What is unique and ideal about this calendar is that the data is arranged by time: is it July 14th and you are wondering what you can still sow? Grab this beautifully designed calendar, open it to 'mid-July,' and see all the vegetables, herbs, and vegetable garden flowers you can sow at that moment. If you can sow a type for a long time, you will encounter it repeatedly. You search by time, not by type. Although, you can also do that if you wish. At the back, you will find an extensive index where you can also search by vegetables, herbs, or flowers.
By using icons, the information remains compact. The calendar comes with a bookmark containing the legend. This way, you don't have to memorize the icons, but always have the explanation at hand. The calendar is filled with information about sowing in a very clear way. When do you sow what, do you sow it indoors, outdoors, or under cold glass? When can you transplant it, is the flower edible, does it attract bees/butterflies, to which crop does the vegetable belong, and much more.

Information about caring for the plants or maintaining the vegetable garden is not included. This information can be found on Diana's extensive website. The calendar is simple, straightforward, and indispensable for both novice and experienced vegetable gardeners. The SOWING CALENDAR FOR THE VEGETABLE GARDEN is printed on beautiful recycled paper of very sturdy quality. It contains many tips, twelve stories by Diana in her characteristic, cheerful, and accessible style. And by popular demand, there is space for notes.
