Pest Book (from Trampling to Pampering)

An increasing number of people feel the need to stop using poisons to combat garden pests. But if you no longer want to use chemical powders or destructive sprays, what then? How do you garden without poison? That's what you'll find in The Pest Book: the essential follow-up to the successful Weed Book, which has already sold over 10,000 copies.

The Pest Book is another enjoyable, practical guide, this time focusing on 'troublesome garden creatures'. Think of aphids, ants, slugs, wasps, caterpillars, moles, and rats. Why are they there, and what do they say about your garden? Are they actually pests? By getting to know the animals, there's more understanding and tolerance. And if you do want to control them, how do you do it without poison?

An engaging read interspersed with interviews, featuring various people who deal with pests daily. Among them are the organic grower, the ring-necked parakeet researcher, the snail man, the phobia psychologist, the artist, the allotment gardener, and the scientist. The illuminating photos provide recognition and confirmation.

Bet you'll look at your garden with different eyes? And who knows, you might even come to appreciate the animals and allow them to be part of your garden. Gardening will become easier, and you'll have more time to enjoy your garden. Make that change and contribute to the restoration of the ecological balance in the Netherlands, because every little bit helps!
