Irrigation mat 400+

Ideal moisture-absorbing, rot-free mat for placing pots for gentle watering from below. Can be used, for example, on plant tables or in water collection trays, indoors or outdoors. The specific gravity of this (extra thick) synthetic, felt-like mat is 400g/m² and its water capacity is 4 litres/m².
The advantage of an irrigation mat: Plants placed in a layer of water will absorb water into the root ball more quickly, which can lead to it becoming too wet. Part of the roots can die due to lack of oxygen, and growth stagnates due to a cold (wet) root system. The irrigation mat absorbs the water (like a buffer), which means the root ball fills up less quickly in one go. The mat works even better if you let it draw water up like a wick from a slightly lower water tray (see simple drawing).
