Underground Heating Cable 320W

25-meter length, double insulated cable for approx. 5 m². 320W (without thermostat).

Heated soil cable offers the most flexible way to provide bottom heat to your seed trays. The heat capacity can be increased by 1) placing the U-shaped windings closer together, 2) purchasing a higher wattage cable, or 3) sprinkling a thinner layer of sand on top of the cable. To prevent heat loss, it is advisable to use a polystyrene sheet as a base, then distribute the cable on top, followed by a layer of sand or a sheet of aluminum to spread the heat. The seed trays can then be placed on this. Use a soil thermometer (e.g. 809155 and 809157) to monitor the temperature.
Tip: for accurate temperature control, use the robust Thermostat (see 809244), which must be purchased separately.
