4.3 meters length, double-insulated cable for approx. 0.5 m². 25W (without thermostat)
Heated soil cable offers the most flexible way to provide bottom heat to your seed trays. The heating capacity can be increased by 1) placing the U-shaped windings closer together, 2) purchasing a cable with a higher wattage, or 3) by spreading a thinner layer of sand over the cable. To prevent heat loss, it is advisable to use polystyrene foam board as a base, then lay out the cable on top, followed by a layer of sand or an aluminum sheet to distribute the heat. The seed trays can then be placed on this. Use a soil thermometer (e.g., 809155 and 809157) to monitor the temperature.
Tip: For precise temperature control, use a reliable thermostat (see 809244), which must be purchased separately.
