ARTISANAL EARTHENWARE! The Olla (pronounced 'oy-ya') is an unglazed, porous, terracotta pot that can be buried in a central location among plants. The pot is then filled with water. The plant roots will grow towards the pot and draw water from it. If the pot is refilled regularly (1-2 times a week), the plants will thrive, and you will save 50-70% water. Sealing the pot prevents evaporation, keeps the water clean, and prevents mosquitoes from laying eggs. A beautiful, red-stone lid is included.
The olla is ideal for window boxes, vegetable gardens, and greenhouses, and is available in three sizes.
We recommend removing the olla from the ground before the frost period.
