Butterflies in the garden... the epitome of romance! A sobering fact is that butterflies are finding it increasingly difficult to find sheltered places to spend the night. Placed against a west-facing wall, they benefit optimally from the afternoon and late evening sun. Day butterflies, such as the Red Admiral, Small Tortoiseshell, or Peacock butterfly, look for a place to sleep towards evening. The pots have a roof and narrow slits on the side; the butterfly crawls in, and when it is warm enough in the morning, they fly out again. At the back of the pot, there is an opening to put some twigs, etc., in. The pot is made of reddish-brown terracotta and is frost-resistant.
