THESE BULBS WILL ARRIVE IN OCTOBER 2024.
(1933) Glossy dark red flowers with a tuft of golden yellow stamens fused into petals adorn this late variety. Sturdy long stems up to 100 cm. The scent is subtle and wonderfully sweet..
After years of experience in the Netherlands, our grower has put together a TOP assortment of the most beautiful and successful peonies.
They grow in all soil types:
On clay, growth is problem-free; do not fertilize too much and ensure good drainage.
On sand, the plants remain somewhat smaller; sufficient fertilization keeps the plant healthy.
On peat soil, growth is generally good, but the plants will need to be transplanted or renewed a little earlier.
Place peonies in a sunny spot, plant them (immediately after arrival) so shallowly that only a few cm of soil covers the 'eyes', first firming the soil.
We supply bare rootstocks; each plant has grown for 4-5 years, so the chance of quick flowering is high! Some varieties grow into their intended (double) form as they mature. Colors may vary slightly per year and depend on the preceding winter cold. Because we have to wait until the plants have died back naturally, the rootstocks are available FROM OCTOBER AT THE EARLIEST.
