Paeonia Itoh Hybrid 'First Arrival'

THESE BULBS WILL ARRIVE IN OCTOBER 2024.
(1986) A fine, early-flowering garden variety with large flowers, but compact and sturdy enough to keep the flower upright... The height is 60-80 cm and the semi-double flowers start dark lavender-pink, with a lighter fade. This is a so-called Itoh hybrid, which is a cross between the tree peony and an herbaceous peony.

After years of experience in the Netherlands, our grower has compiled a TOP assortment of the most beautiful and successful peonies.

They grow in all soil types:
On clay, growth is problem-free, do not fertilize too much and ensure good drainage.
On sand, the plants remain somewhat smaller; sufficient fertilization keeps the plant healthy.
On peat soil, growth is generally good, but the plants will need to be transplanted or renewed somewhat earlier.

Place peonies in a sunny spot, plant them (immediately after arrival) so shallowly that only a few cm of soil covers the "eyes," first pressing down the soil.
We supply loose rhizomes; each plant has grown for 4-5 years, so the chance of quick flowering is high! Some varieties grow into their intended (double) form as they age. Colors may vary slightly per year and depend on the preceding winter cold. Because we have to wait until the plants have died back naturally, the rhizomes are only available FROM OCTOBER at the earliest.
