THESE BULBS WILL ARRIVE IN OCTOBER 2024.
(1943) A giant and still very popular! This variety lives up to its name with large purplish-red flowers on sturdy stems about 90 cm long. The pleasantly fragrant flowers appear at the end of May.
After years of experience in the Netherlands, our grower has put together a TOP assortment of the most beautiful and successful peonies.
They grow in all soil types:
On clay soil, growth is problem-free, do not fertilize too much and ensure good drainage.
On sandy soil, the plants remain somewhat smaller; sufficient fertilization keeps the plant healthy.
On peat soil, growth is generally good, but the plants will need to be transplanted or renewed a little earlier.
Place peonies in a sunny spot, plant them (immediately upon arrival) so shallowly that only a few cm of soil covers the "eyes," pressing the soil firmly first.
We supply bare rootstocks; each plant has grown for 4-5 years, so there is a high chance of quick flowering! Some varieties grow into their intended (double) form as they mature. Colors may vary slightly year by year and depend on the preceding winter cold. Because we have to wait until the plants have naturally died back, the rootstocks are available FROM OCTOBER AT THE EARLIEST.
