In California and Southern Oregon, in the Redwood forests, grows this unique plant: sturdy, leafless stems bear clusters at the top with 6-20 hanging, bright red, tubular flowers, which have a green tip at the ends. When the flowers open, this expresses itself in the curling of the tips: they then show the white inner flower (fireworks!). Grassy foliage grows at the base. Keeps well as a cut flower.
