A delicately built wild tulip with red flowers and a jet-black heart. A spherical tulip that returns to bloom for years, provided it is in a warm and quickly drying spot in summer.
The narrow leaves resemble flax leaves. They are native to, among other places, Tajikistan (Central Asia).
Originally "wild" species (also called Tulipa species), often perennials in the garden, with smaller flowers.
