This rare species grows in the mountains of China northeast of Yunnan. You'll find this unique plant in wet grasslands at an altitude of 3360-4000 meters! The flower spathes emerge from the ground simultaneously with the arrow-shaped leaves. The leaves have a beautiful dark stem, are dark green with a purple sheen in a fan shape, and are approximately 25 cm high. The flower spathe is light brown spotted and easily forms seeds, allowing the plant to establish well in the garden. Naturally, the plants are completely winter-hardy and emerge quite late (in May).
