The large three-part leaf forms the basis for this strong shade plant. At a height of 30-40 cm, the arum-like flower spathes appear, green on the outside and deep purple inside with an extremely long spadix. This plant comes from Japan and Southeast China and easily settles in the garden. I have seen them growing and blooming profusely in Hokkaido!
