Look at these beautiful dark flowers among lighter-coloured daylilies: what a standout! The flowers are double and chestnut-brown, with a warm yellow centre glowing at the base.
Daylilies are rewarding garden plants, generally quite winter-hardy. Although an opened flower only blooms for 1-2 days, the continuous production of flowers ensures weeks to months of bloom. Give them fertile, well-drained soil and full sun. The buds and flowers are edible (lightly fry them). We made a selection from tens of thousands of varieties! Single-flowered and double-flowered types exist; if single-flowered types have 3 (out of 6) extra developed petals, a triangular effect is created, otherwise the flowers have a round or star shape.
