Occasionally we can get hold of this special botanical (i.e. wild) species. Originating from Central America, the plant grows there into specimens up to 10 meters high! In our climate, they easily reach 2-3m and bloom with large lilac-pink flowers with a visible heart. The flowers are 8-15 cm in diameter and look down on you, as they hang downwards! Outdoors, flowering only succeeds with a good, warm summer right at the end of the year and then continues until the frost. So get it growing in time and enjoy this large plant. In a greenhouse or conservatory, flowering will take place annually without exception. The feathered foliage also contributes to its ornamental value.
