A special and spectacular member of the lily family from China and Japan. In its first years, the plant “only” shows a beautiful, hosta or arum-like plant. The yunnanensis variety is considered the absolute “King” of this species, due to its deep green leaves (purple-bronze when young) and deep red veins and stem. After a few years, the plant produces an eruption of slightly downward-pointing, large trumpet-shaped flowers at a height of 1.5-2.5m: white with a beautiful wine-red throat. Protect the plant well in winter or store the bulbs frost-free. A few hours of sun per day is the best condition; too much sun causes leaf burn. Our photos usually show the common C. giganteum!
