According to many enthusiasts, the King (or Queen) among Arisaemas! Its multi-colored appearance and peculiar shape are the reasons for this. The palmate leaf consists of 5 lobes and changes from plain green to green with grey-green marbling. Soon after these leaves emerge (at about 30 cm height), the tubular, arum-like flowers appear: deep purple spathes on the outside and bright white inside with a round club (or spadix) on a stalk, just like a well-protected pearl! The spathe is pointed and slightly overhanging, in a brown-green-white color. Like almost all Arisaemas, this species is perfectly hardy, but in very severe frost, it is wise to add extra leaf litter.
