A fully hardy, striking garden plant with an exotic appearance. First, fresh green leaves grow on long stems. The leaf is divided from the center into (usually) 10 parts and forms an umbrella around the stem. For this alone, the plant deserves a spot in your garden! When the slender, cup-shaped flowers then emerge (height 40-60 cm), the pleasure is complete: they are green-white with black-purple stripes lengthwise. The back part of the spathe (flower sheath) has an arching, long outgrowth that creates a "roof". The image of an old-fashioned pulpit is complete! The plants grow and bloom where other plants fail, namely in the shade. Give them a spot with plenty of humus.
