This attractive, easy-to-grow species from Yunnan, China, forms a distinctive plant up to about 1 m tall. Each year, one large, finger-shaped leaf grows, supported by a beautifully brown-mottled stem. The flower of Amorphophallus yunnanensis appears in early spring; the spathe is green and later white, and the spadix resembles an ink cap mushroom: a stalk with a large, elongated, white cap. After flowering, a beautiful, glossy blue cluster of berries develops. Give the plant a partially shaded spot, and it is recommended to store the tubers dry and cool in winter.
