Here we have a piece of history in the cabbage family! The European predecessor of the Asian Amsoi, which originated from a cross with turnip greens. The seeds are black and can be pressed into mustard. The leaves are deliciously spicy and the plant is very frost-resistant. Tip: as a microgreen, this is a delicious spicy addition to salads; you can also sow it like spinach and harvest the young leaves for salads.
This variety is grown as a sprout (for the white sprout) or as a microgreen (for the young plant with cotyledons or the first true leaves). Sprouting is done in the dark and warmth; the sprouts can stay fresh in the refrigerator for a week, provided they are well drained. Microgreens are grown on moisture-retaining material (paper towel, cotton wool, soil). For germination, keep them dark and warm; after germination, provide light and cooler temperatures.
