Beautiful green with red sprout with a delicious, subtle, nutty taste. This is the most popular variety in Japan. They grow best in a thin layer of seed soil in a light place. Give them plenty of warmth for good germination. Harvesting by thinning out gives some plants the chance to grow further; then put these in a larger pot.
This variety is grown as microgreen (for the young plant with cotyledon or first true leaf). Microgreens are grown on moisture-retaining material (kitchen roll, cotton wool, soil). For germination, keep dark and warm; after germination, light and cooler.
