Versatile and very elegant cress. The young, multicolored (yellow, white, and green) leaves already possess a subtle, spicy flavor, packed with vitamin C and a famous appetite stimulant! The elegant, freshly colored leaves remain deliciously spicy and are soon "adorned" with bright red, orange, and yellow flowers, which are just as tasty: soft in texture and pleasantly spicy. It prepares the palate for a new delicacy, making it ideal as an intermediate course, but of course also wonderful for adding more "power" and color to a salad.
This plant originates from Peru and not from Indonesia, as the Dutch name "Oost-Indische Kers" (East Indian Cress) suggests.
This variety is cultivated as a microgreen (for the young plant with cotyledons or the first true leaf). Microgreens are grown on moisture-retaining material (paper towels, cotton wool, soil). Keep dark and warm for germination, then light and cooler after germination.
