Asian leafy vegetable (see "Amaranth Leaf" in chapter "Vegetable Seeds"). Sown in a pot or container, it produces attractive red, young, and fresh leaves that blend beautifully into salads and leave a slight beet flavor. Very fine seed!
This variety is grown as microgreens (for the young plant with cotyledons or first true leaves). Microgreens are grown on moisture-retaining material (paper towels, cotton wool, soil). Dark and warm for germination, light and cooler after germination.
