A cross between wheat and rye. Strong for overwintering, so sow in October (also possible in spring). This professional variety is a very healthy substitute for spring rye and allows for the cultivation of wheat on poorer soils (e.g., sandy soil).
As a sprouted seed, wheat rye is a healthy sprout vegetable, and as a young plant, it is also very suitable for making healthy juice or for cat grass (or for rabbits, chickens, hamsters, etc.)
