A very hardy Japanese ornamental grass that strongly resembles bamboo. Its leaves grow like a fountain: upwards, then arching until they touch the ground again. The plant is not invasive and is also beautiful in flower boxes. Hakonechloa prefers a spot where the soil is not too dry; if necessary, mulch and water in summer. In August-October, the grass blooms with small flower plumes that barely rise above the foliage. The striking autumn leaf coloration is a true spectacle: if the plant is in the shade, it turns yellow and orange, and in a sunny spot, it even turns lilac-purple. In winter, this ornamental grass loses its leaves. This mix consists of purple, green, and yellow-leaved varieties with intermediate and double shades.
