This funny grass is usually an annual in our climate, but the fallen seeds do last through the winter. The fun part is mainly the inflorescence, which, with its widely spread spikelets, resembles a helicopter or windmill! Height 30-50 cm.
This species occurs in the wild in Australia and is perennial in warmer regions. Sheep love it, making it an important grass there!
